Indulge in an evening dedicated to craftsmanship, flavour, and the art of cheese. In partnership with award‑winning affineurs Rennet & Rind, Elle‑Events invites you to a guided tasting experience celebrating some of the finest British and European cheeses, all within the elegant surroundings of The Hobson, one of Cambridge’s most stylish boutique hotels.
Guests will enjoy a curated flight of five exceptional cheeses, each introduced by a specialist cheesemonger. Expect stories of provenance, technique, and terroir, along with a “Meet the Maker” moment.
Your experience begins with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, generously provided by The Hobson, before settling into an intimate, atmospheric tasting space designed to bring each cheese to life. With a team of specialists on hand, including a cheesemonger, and dedicated service staff, you’ll be guided through flavour, texture, and pairing notes in a relaxed, welcoming environment with smooth tones of Jazz in the background.

The Edible Bouquet Workshop

Elevate your centre piece with a delicious twist! Create a centrepiece that is as beautiful as it is tasty at this hands‑on edible bouquet workshop inside the elegant Hobson Hotel. Blending the creativity of floristry with the playfulness of food styling, this guided session invites you to design and assemble your own vibrant arrangement made entirely from fresh, seasonal produce.
Each workshop explores a curated selection of herbs, greens, chillies, baby vegetables and edible flowers. You will learn how to combine colour, texture and structure to craft a bouquet that is perfect for gifting, displaying or enjoying at home. You will also have full access to our bespoke Bloom Bar, offering seasonal stems and finishing touches to help you personalise your creation.
Guests can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee throughout the session. Every participant will take home recipe ideas to help you make the most of your bouquet after the event.

Spine and Dine with University Arms – A Wind in the Willows Themed Supper

Join us on Thursday 14 May for an enchanting evening that blends smooth jazz, storybook-inspired dining, and the warm glow of candlelight inside the luxurious library of University Arms, Cambridge’s oldest and most luxurious hotel.
Guests will arrive from 7:00pm, with everyone seated for dinner at 7:30pm around one beautifully set communal table for 18 diners – perfect for conversation, connection, and a shared culinary experience.
Your evening begins with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, with additional drinks available for purchase throughout the night.
This special Wind in the Willows–themed three-course menu celebrates East Anglia’s May harvest, drawing inspiration from the riverside picnics, cosy burrows, woodland feasts, and whimsical adventures of the beloved characters.
